Xiaomi appears to be preparing one of its most ambitious global flagship launches to date. New certification filings suggest that the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Ultra will not only be released internationally, but may also arrive in Europe with a special Leica-branded edition.
Multiple Xiaomi 17 Ultra Variants Spotted
So far, two Xiaomi 17 Ultra models have appeared in Chinese certification databases under the numbers 2512BPNDAC and 25128PNA1C. These align with expectations for a Leica co-engineered flagship set to debut in China this month.
Activity is now picking up outside China as well. An IMEI database entry has revealed the model 2512BPNDAG, the first strong indication that a global version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is in development. A leaked hands-on image of this variant shows a large square camera module with three prominent cutouts — a clear departure from the rear design of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Leica-Focused Special Edition for Europe
Europe may receive an additional, more exclusive model. A second device, listed as 25128PNA1G in GSMA records, has surfaced. According to information shared by XiaomiTime, this variant — internally code-named P1S — is expected to launch as a Leica-centric special edition, potentially under a name like “Xiaomi 17 Leica Leitzphone Edition.”
This strategy would allow Xiaomi to emphasize its Leica partnership more strongly, while still retaining the Ultra branding that has become synonymous with its high-end camera flagships.
Same Hardware, Exclusive Design Touches
Reports indicate that the standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Leica Leitzphone Edition will share the same core specifications. The special edition is expected to distinguish itself through unique finishes and officially supported clip-on lens accessories, echoing Leica’s long-standing optical legacy.
Global Photography-First Flagship Strategy
If these listings prove accurate, Xiaomi seems to be positioning the 17 Ultra series as photography-first flagships on a global scale, rather than focusing solely on the Chinese market. With the launch roadmap apparently set and two distinct variants planned for Europe, both Xiaomi enthusiasts and mobile photography fans have a compelling new device lineup to look forward to in 2026.
