Vivo S50 Series Launching December 15 With Surprising “Mini” Pro

Recent posts on Weibo from Vivo have already confirmed the design of the upcoming Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini. The teasers highlight the refreshed look of both models and provide an initial glimpse at the hardware of the Pro Mini variant. The company has also revealed some of the key internal specifications. While Vivo has yet to officially announce the launch date, a circulating Weibo post indicates that the series is expected to debut on December 15, paving the way for the lineup’s arrival.

The Vivo S50 is expected to feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution. The device was recently spotted on Geekbench equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM.

Vivo has confirmed that the phone will use LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Its camera setup may include a 50-megapixel front camera and a triple rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens. The device is also said to run Android 16 with OriginOS 6 and support 90W fast charging (approximately 90 USD / 82 EUR / 7,520 INR worth of fast-charging capability in comparable accessories). Details about the battery capacity have not yet been revealed. The S50 will reportedly be available in four colors: black, white, blue, and purple.

Vivo S50 Pro Mini specifications

Through its official teasers, Vivo has outlined the main hardware specifications of the S50 Pro Mini. The phone will have a 6.31-inch flat AMOLED display, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

The rear camera setup includes a VCS light-sensitive main sensor, a Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide lens. On the front, the device will house a 50-megapixel anti-distortion selfie camera.

The S50 Pro Mini will be backed by a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging (roughly 90 USD / 82 EUR / 7,520 INR in equivalent fast-charger pricing) and 40W wireless charging (around 40 USD / 36 EUR / 3,345 INR in comparable wireless charging accessories). Other notable features include an Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor 2.0, IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, and an X-axis linear motor for enhanced haptic feedback.
